You can stay with original Medicare Part A and Part B, or you can elect for an Advantage Plan (called Part C), or even a Medicare Supplement and add a Prescription Drug Plan (Part D) to provide you with Rx coverage.  

Medicare Advantage plans, called MA plans, can also come with an embedded Prescription Drug Plan.  These plans would be called MA-PD, or Medicare Advantage with Prescription Drug coverage.

A Medicare Supplement or "Medigap" plan works with original Meicare Parts A and B to fill in the Medicare coverage "gaps."  These plans are described below.
